President Donald Trump said he couldn't care less if his signature tariffs raise the prices of foreign vehicles for American in a wide ranging interview with NBC News on Saturday.
The president on the campaign trail vowed to lower prices for consumers, but some experts have warned that the cost of tariffs will ultimately be passed along to Americans. While Trump and his administration have argued the cost will spur people to buy products made in the U.S., even American car companies aren't making every par or assembling all their vehicles here.
The president also told the outlet on Saturday he doesn't plan to fire anyone involved in the signal group chat where top intelligence officials discussed military attack plans in front of a journalist. Trump also reiterated his interest in acquiring Greenland and dismissed concerns that his policies are creating volatility in the stock market.
Trump said he |couldn't are less" if foreign car price go up after he imposed 25% tariffs on imported automobile earlier this week.
