Long Chau Pharmacy

The company that bought 13% of Long Chau's capital is Malaysia-based private equity firm Creador, which is now referred to as the mysterious foreign shareholder as per reports.

Malaysian private equity firm Creador has bought up to 13% of the FPT Long Chau Investment JSC (Long Chau), which is one of leading pharmacy chains in Vietnam.

This is the first fundraising activity of Long Chau while this is a second investment by Creador in Vietnam.

The investment made by Creador is for a year and is done in two tranches. The investment is being made through newly created shares and by buying existing individual shareholder shares.

Founded in 2011, Creador specializes in a long-term investment strategy to grow high growth companies across South and Southeast Asia. The company manages over US$3 billion of assets.

With the number of pharmacies more than 2,000 now, Long Chau has grown from just four stores in 2017, while there are more than 140 vaccination centres across all 63 provinces in Vietnam. It is the only national pharmacy chain that operates profitably across all provinces.

FPT retail, which is one of the leading multi-category retail platforms, remains the controlling owner at Long Chau.

According to the CEO and founder of Creader, Brahmal Vasudevan, very few businesses get to achieve what has been done by Long Chau in terms of the scale it has achieved within the nation, brand trust and depth into the community. According to him, Long Chau has an enviable position at the forefront of making health care very accessible and affordable for all. We are proud to support this mission and be part of the continued impact and growth at Long Chau.
